The great and specialized Nuancier of the stamp N°14 of Philaclub

Philaclub is pleased to propose to you a complete and specialized nuancier (colour chart) of the imperforated blue Napoleon 20c stamp.

After months of research, Michael Schwahn and your Webmaster Bernard Brinette drew up this great study with more than 70 references in images to allow you to follow all the evolution of this stamp from 1854 to 1862. We also joined a list of the stamps including a precise identification of the nuance, an extent of the dates of publication of the stamp and finally an index of scarcity which allows you to evaluate its quotation.

This nuancier was established according to a new classification of this stamp which will enable you to better understand its principal phases of manufacture.

Indeed, in a few years, this stamp had initially a milky blue colour (1854-55) then  dark blue (1855-57), then sky blue (1857-61) and finally defective impressions due to the wear of the punches (1860-61). We find in types II, the principal late nuances of type I.

Don't hesitate to make this modest investment, because we are persuaded that if those stamps interest you, you will amortize this purchase quickly. This stamp is one of the first of France. Thus it has more than 150 years and it was published only 5 years after the first stamp of France, in 1854. At its first publication, the users of letters with stamps were still very restricted. For this reason for example, that "a simple" milky blue stamp of quality is already at least 10 times more worth than one standard blue Napoleon published in great number a few years after, around 1860.
